Viewing Shift Activity
The Calendar tab in the Manager Dashboard allows users to view a table of all shift and VTO activity on a weekly basis. Admins can use the date range picker to move from week to week. They can also limit or expand the data displayed by using the day filters.
The data displayed can be exported to a CSV file by clicking on the ‘Export’ button in the top left corner of the screen.
Posting Open Shifts and VTO
From the Calendar tab, users have the ability to post Open Shifts or voluntary time off (VTO) opportunities. Any Open Shifts or VTOs posted from the Manager Dashboard will appear in the Shift Feed on employee mobile apps and in the Shyft Associate Web tool (https://app.myshyft.com).
Select the radio button in the upper right portion of the screen to post Open Shifts or VTO. A shift and VTO creation tool will then appear. On this screen, users will enter all required information:
- The time period - Open shifts or VTO can only be posted for one day at a time. After selecting the appropriate date, users will then enter the start and end time of the shift.
- A description - A text field that allows managers to add additional context about the shift(s) or VTO(s) being posted.
- Who the post will reach - Using this dropdown, a user can select who will see the open shift(s) or VTO(s). The location's Main Location Feed, which includes all active users, as well as any custom groups, will be available.
- The volume - In this field, users will enter the total volume of open shifts or VTOs to be posted. There can be up to 5,000 posts, so be sure to double-check your work.
Posting Multiple Sets of Open Shifts or VTOs
After adding all of the necessary data to post, users can copy the details and create an additional set of Open Shifts or VTOs. To copy, click on the blue copy icon. Once copied, the details found within the new set of shifts or VTOs can be edited.
If a user makes a mistake or would like to delete a set, they can do so by clicking on the red ‘x’ button. If a user would like to post open shifts or VTOs for an additional date, they can click on the ‘Add another date’ button and enter the necessary data.
Preview and Post
Once all necessary data has been added, the user can click the ‘Preview’ button to view the details of the Open Shift(s) or VTOs. Within the preview screen, users can choose to go back and edit data before posting or they can simply post. Once posted, employees will receive a push and in-app notification that shifts/VTOs have been posted. The shifts/VTOs will also appear in the Shift Feed.
