Associates can apply to take Voluntary Time Off (VTO) opportunities in the Shift Marketplace. VTOs are posted by Admins when there is a lower volume of work available.
Viewing VTOs
Users can browse available VTO offers in the Shift Marketplace section of the Calendar tab. VTOs are identified in the feed with a yellow stripe indicator and they are labeled as a VTO.
When users tap on a VTO offer, they will access the VTO Details information. All relevant information about the VTO will be displayed, including the Job Title associated with the VTO, the start time and end time, the quantity of VTO offers available, and the number of users that have applied to take the VTO.
Viewing VTO Comments
On the VTO Details page, users can access public VTO Comments below the VTO description. This is how users communicate about VTOs directly on VTO cards. The first post in this section is the initial VTO description. To continue the conversation, a user can tap on VTO Comments and they will be taken to a threaded VTO Comments page where they can respond. Group members who had visibility to the initial VTO offer will have visibility to the comments in this section.
Users can ask questions about the VTO or request any information they need to help them determine if this is the right VTO offer for them to take. Once a user applies for the VTO or adds a comment in this section, they become a VTO Post follower and will receive all notifications related to the VTO and comments that follow.
Applying to Take VTO
When a user is ready to take VTO, they tap on the green 'Take VTO' button that appears at the bottom of the application card. The application card is the foreground section that sits on top of the VTO details. In this area, users can see their Profile Picture, Job Title, VTO status, and current scheduled hours for the week.
Application Comments
After a user applies to take VTO, a chat bubble icon will appear at the top right of the application card. This is how a user accesses the Application Comments section. Tapping on the chat bubble icon opens a private multi-user comment section where the participants in the thread are the post owner, the shift applicant, and the site Admins. Application Comments are a place where private conversations can take place such as reviewing personal qualifications for a VTO, or specific reasons why a team member was Approved or Denied.
VTO Comments are used for sending larger public messages to all users who have VTO visibility, while Application Comments are used for application-specific conversations with the applicable parties.
After Applying for a VTO
Once a user has applied to take VTO, their application will be pending Admin approval. Users will see their pending VTO application card in the Shift Marketplace section of the Calendar tab.
After an Admin approves or denies the application, all parties will be notified and the application status will convert to Approved or Denied. If it is a VTO that has been Approved, the VTO will transfer to appear in the Schedule section of the Calendar tab.
